Overlord: Volume 15 - Epilogue (Intermission)

Night Liches are existences that absorbed a large amount of magical power that surpasses even Elder liches. Very few Night Liches have ever been confirmed in history and the living are grateful for it. Night Liches have a great amount of power and are able to use the high-tier magic called "6th tier", which is beyond the realm of humanity.

With those powers, they can go head to head with old-ranking dragons. In addition, they have many special abilities and are commonly surrounded by many other undead. They have high intelligence and often settle in impregnable fortresses with 10-20 layers deep.

One is even the ruler of a nation, the King of the Undead. In fact, the three well-known night liches are The Dragon Night Lich "Guphandera Argoros", The Gaint Goodess Night Lich Hueiron, and The Shadow King who is known as "Fear". They rule over a territory comparable to a small country and are known to neighboring nations as the existence of Fear. Those known as Night Lich are seen as mythical beings only spoken of in fear and their existence is synonymous with natural disasters.

Banezeri Anchas has two names, one of which is "Abyss". They are a Night Lich that everyone fears, but remains unknown to the world. They slowly descend into the huge room while handing their head.  A night Lich with 6 Arms and 2 Heads, he is a terrifying existence that can never be defeated by Humanity. This is not a surprise from someone who has mastered multiple magics up to the 6th tier.

They are the prominent Night Lich, who is the founder and oldest undead in Corpus of Abyss. Originally the organization started with 3 members, but then grew to 4 becoming known as the organization called "Corpus of Abyss".

They are a group of undead magical casters, which originally started with the goal of coordinating and preventing a conflict of interests between each other because undead with infinite lifespans will eventually run into each other. While Undead don't have the 3 major desires of the living, they often have the desire for knowledge. Therefore when a dispute arose over one piece of knowledge it would often result in a battle to the dead.

However, some undead have come to the understanding that it is wise to cooperate with each other, so those Night Liches came together to create a group, which they engraved their names into a stone monument. Participants eventually grew in magical power. Which were called "Graniezo Inscription" in the future. At that time, there were only 3 Elder Liches names, but became 4 Night Liches names. They had very few rules, but if you violated you would be targeted by the other members.

Above the author sort of repeats himself 3 times about the whole desire thing. He also goes into this comparison about fishermen fighting over fish. I'm skipping it for now since I don't get it, don't want to look up all these words, and it is sort of redundant.

About 200 years later, it had changed into an organization with its own rules. At the same time, the number of undead belonging has increased. Now they have seven members of the council and 48 members. It is a large organization consisting of a total of 55 people and the 7 members of the council were all undead who reached a difficulty level of 150.

However, a few people know this organization. The undead belonging to this organization was divided into two. One who gains power among the living and uses them to act for his own purposes. The other is one who acts quietly for their own purposes. Since the number of people who follow the former is very small, the latter is overwhelmingly large, so they haven't done many activities in the world of the living. Besides if you try to increase your power among the living, your enemies will benefit as well.

In particular, the undead are enemies of the living. In that way, the existence of the former became even less. Of course, there are some who take root in the shadow of humanity, so that no one knows that undead are working behind the scenes. As a result, Corpus of Abyss has become an organization that only exists as rumors. The reason why I didn't invite the Night Lich who was the most powerful of the 3 oldest members in the organization was to avoid being noticed.

Going out of the room there is a huge passageway that is lit by a small light. It's a waiting room for those who meet. There is no need to prepare such a thing, but Banezeri was requested to by the others.  The one who has there called out to Banezeri.

"Did you come back? Then it's my turn."

Since Baneseri was there earlier he can tell without looking at who called out. Because no one is allowed here if they weren't invited. Only those sitting in the council were called in today. Almost 400 years have passed since the organization was established and the number of undead belonging to the council is currently 9.

  1. Ganko Kenrou Bangunro "Abyss"
  2. White Saint "Granz Locker"
  3. Death Rider
  4. King of Corruption
  5. Red Eye Prince
  6. Wolf
  7. Eater
  8. Yellow Ghost

I think I messed something up here, sing it says 9 people, but they say 7 members everywhere else, but I need to knock this out, so I will try and come back later on and update it if I can.

They have all arrived except White Saint. The last one left to arrive is White Saint "Granz Locker", an undead woman with white skin that is dressed in a white veil and white dress. She was the first to reach the 8th tier before everyone else and is even aiming towards the 9th tier. Any undead who is studying magic had no choice but to admit that they were above them. White Saint is also a favorite of the current organization's rulers.

"Who is that"

"I don't like it either."

"It's unpleasant, but I have to put up with it."

That's what you hear from every conversation related to White Saint. That's why I'm not happy even with their flattery. No, I can't accept other undead that take our research and never contribute. It may be even more than that, of course, I wouldn't show such thoughts in front of the others. Unfortunately, even if everyone in the organization dismissed the flag there will be no chance of winning.

I'm not 100% sure how to word some of the above without getting to far from the original meaning. The summary is that Banezeri didn't like that Granz boasted about being so strong, while also taking their research and never helping them.

"Oh, next is you. It's been a long time, when we are done would you like to talk?"

"I see do you understand. Yes of course!", He was happy to participate.

"Where at, the usual place?"

"Yes. I'm going ahead."

Baneseri left Granz and walked in the dark for a while. It's possible because he is undead. It makes little sense that the waiting room was lit. I don't know who installed it, but it's probably just there for decoration. The floor is polished by magical means, but the walls and ceiling remain rough dug out rock. This is a huge cave, but it wasn't naturally formed. It was dug out by the ruler of the organization, and it must have taken a considerable amount of time.  I visit this cave once every few years or so. Every time I dig into such a big cave I get ridiculed since I manually do it without magic.

I'm not very confident about the who digging a cave thing, so I took some liberty to fill in some of the blanks.

After confirming that they have distanced themself to some extent, Baneseri activates [Transfer] and moves to the desired location. It is in front of a castle built in the mountains, which is the residence of one of the Councilors "Red Eye" Kunivela. Kunivela is the most beautiful of the chancellor and he has first class magical items. The majesty of the castle created by paying various races for their knowledge and magical items. Treasure including jewels can be fully felt even by those without any aesthetic sense.

For the reason, when the chancellors gathered to hold a meeting Kunivela residence was used. As soon as Baneseri moves to the front of the castle gate, the undead who serve Kunivela appears to guide you to the castle. In the guided room, all the Councilors except Granz has gathered. It was the castle owner Kunivela who called out.

"I made you wait" and "Thank you for your hard work."

He is a humanoid with pale skin. He was not naturally spawned undead, but a human beign who turned himself into an undead with magic. For that reason we can see the remanants of their past, particularally when it relates to their personal belongings. The others look the same as usual while wearing magical items that give off strong magical power. Only one person here has a different and elegant outfit each time. However, there is almost no magical power in clothes. For others, clothing is something that strengthens itself, but for Krunvela it seems to be decoration.

"Are you sure you want to start when Granz comes?"

Banezeri sits in one of the chaise lounges in the room and asks his compatriots that question. There is no objection. What we are about to start is a series of discussions to prepare for the rebellion against "that". I originally admited that because I was simply strong. Perhaps he heard from one of the members of the Council that there was an organization called "Corpus of Abyss". He suddenly appeared in front of everyone and showed his overwhelming power. Because I thought that it would be a deterrent to the strongest beings in this world. It was not aimed at expanding the organization, but it was the worst kind of ruler at the center of the continent.

The Corpus of Abyss was not born in order to cause the turmoil of the world. It is not good to think of it as a force that can be rented out for their amusement. If so, a new deterrent to that is prepared. It should be done, that is the common idea of those who belong to the Corpus of Abyss since they had many opportunities to meet with them. Normally, as the number of participants increased. The possibility of some people betraying their peers and disseminating information increases.

However, the lack of loyalty to that means there was no one willing to do it. They can be sure there are no traitors so far, the proof is that Baneseris is safe. If the betrayal is revealed then Baneseris will be destroyed. It controls the organization and uses the research results of Banezeri and others to strengthen himself. In other words it is a parasite on them all.

None the less, I don't think that even if the Baneseris and the others move a little. Their merits are greater, so lets leave them alone. No doubt they will act to destroy Banezeris. There is no tolerance or measure as a ruler in that. No, should I be wary?

So the fact that Baneseri and his friends are safe means that "they" are unaware of it. Fortunately, it lacks the ability to control the undead. Considering the difference in competence if we specialized in it, we could have controlled the Baneseri and others.

Sakushi, (Don't think we will let you exploit us forever!) Baneseri drew in his mind the giant thing he had met earlier and thew it away.

So this gets a little confusing what the author is trying to say. I believe Banezeri is basically complaining about White Saint taking their research and not sharing anything of their own. Because of this Banezeri wants to kill them out, but is worried about being betrayed. I'm not 100% sure.  Either way Banezeri feels that they are a parasite on their organization, but can't really do anything by themself since they are so strong.

Overlord: Volume 15 - Chapter 2 - Part 1

The Captain of the Holocaust Scriptures is lying in wait in the Sea of Trees. He notices a young elf sitting on a chair on a high mound. They appeared to be female holding a giant bow in her hand. The girl was by herself and just a child... which made it all the scarier. The people in the realm of heroes are enough to turn the tide of the war and are equal to 10,000 soldiers. The girl in question restrained the 40,000 strong army of the Slain Theocracy. Only a Hero can fight a Hero. There are no hero-level beings in the Holocaust Scriptures. There were in the past, but they were all transferred to the Black Scriptures. Almost all of them have stepped into the realm of heroes. It's a pity that Gwen isn't to the level of a hero, but the power of the group of Holocaust Scriptures is enough to kill the hero. It is necessary to correctly grasp the strength of the opponent to avoid unnecessary risk that could endanger his fellow Scriptures. Something about the girl made Gwen feel unc

Overlord: Volume 15 - Chapter 2 - Part 2

As Gwen reaches his hand out, "That's Enough!" Suddenly there was a casual male voice. This caught Gwen off guard and they immediately looked at the source of the sound. That is a male elf. How is that possible, there wasn't no one else around here. I was even using Invisible when approaching the body. TS: I'm not sure what type of Invisibility they are referring to. I had to look the word up and it says "Unknowable", so I'm guessing something in between invisibility and Perfect Unknowable because they still need to cast Silence.  (Elven King) Did you know, that living beings become strong when they are in a state of extreme danger? Fighting is the fastest way to become stronger. That's why I thought it might be a successful test. He separated her from her mother and sent her to the front lines. The voice fell low and the man looked at the girl's corpse lightly. "It's a waste of my time, even worse..." (Gwen) His failed works a
